A great friend of mine, Andy, gave me a challenge to read “For One More Day” by Mitch Albom. I’m very exited to read it as I loved “The Five People You Meet In Heaven,” which is also written by Mitch Albom. Also, I gave “For One More Day” to Andy for his birthday, so I thought I should read the book I gave as a gift.
I’m currently in Washington, DC, traveling with my family. I was over in the Georgetown area, and I spotted a Barnes and Noble so I stopped in to pick up the book. After looking around for a bit, and finally finding fiction on the third floor (what book stores have three floors? Never been in one with more than two floors in Tennessee but anyway…) I just grabbed the last copy of “For One More Day” and bought it. I never opened it.
Cut to 24 hours later: I’d just finished my current book (”Sun Kissed” by Melissa De La Cruz, for those interested), and thought I’d read a few pages of my new book before going to sleep. Much to my surprise and with immense pleasure did I find that I’d unknowingly stumbled upon a signed copy of “For One More Day.”
I let out the biggest squee, and promptly got on my phone. I would have called Andy, but he lives in England and didn’t want to wake him. I called numerous people, all just so I could squee. Cause this has NEVER happened to me before. I didn’t know this happened. I’ve emailed Mitch Albom’s people to see what they say about the book. Let’s hope it comes back authetic. I really think it is “real” as the signature is on a book plate, not just the book. I’ll be keeping my fingers crossed.
Thanks DC for being so amazing so far! Keep it up!
I apologize for not posting for a while. I was sick for a good two weeks from the “LeakyFlu” with a stomach bug added on for good measure, so needless to say after feeling miserable and one visit to the ER I wasn’t really feeling very “bloggy.” I will write up my report from Terminus and post a whole bunch of book reviews soon.
In the meantime, I will leave you with a few lines from one of my favorite songs of all time:
I wish you Peace, Love and Happiness in everything you do.
I Pray that everywhere you go someone will be in love with you.
And I know that if you’d stayed within these loving arms of mine,
that every single on of these dreams would come true.

I’m home, sick as a dog, and exhausted so my “day by day reports” of Terminus will have to wait for a little bit. But I’ll leave you with this photo that captures the feeling of the weekend. I’m smiling like crazy with Gina. She’s made of awesome, and I just loooove her.
I absolutely love this photo. It really captures the essence of why I go to these Harry Potter conferences, and why I’m on the Board of Directors for another one. We have fun. Enormous amounts of it. That’s why we love each other and use up all our vacation time for these conferences. If you love Harry Potter, and have never been to a conference, you have to go to one. It will change your life. It certainly has changed mine.
I was interviewed by Hillel Italie from The AP about Stephanie Meyer. (!!!!!) It was fun, nerve wracking and pretty dang cool.
Confession time: I have a google alert on my name. I think it’s smart to have one. How else will you know if you’re being talked about? haha I know I’m not the only one. Do you have one?
It’s because of the google alert that I found out the article had gone to 4! different papers already.
Registration is $100 and it includes a cocktail reception. (yay?) Go register now!
All these noncons I’ve been going to (PodCampNashville and planning BarCampNashville2) had me thinking everything was free. It’s not. haha But I think it will be worth it for a day of learning everything there is about blogging. I know I don’t know it all. I’m really looking forward to meeting a bunch of cool lady bloggers, and I hope you can join me!
