Great presentation about PR in the new media age by Bill Seaver.
Pitch Bloggers Strategically
-Don’t pitch bloggers like a traditional media outlet.
-Don’t sent Press Releases, they will probably get reposted, and not in a good light
-Need to learn about the blogger before pitching to them
The P.O.S.T. Method
People: Who are you trying to reach? Who is going to do the reaching? Time is required to make things work. Put money into people.
Objectives: What do you hope to change or accomplish?
Strategy: How will to accompish what you want?
Technology: YouTube, Twitter, Bloggers -Should be last thing you do.
Create and Enable Good Content
American people are hit by 4,000 ads a day.
The only reason people will pay attention is if they feel they can get something for themselves.

Measure your Engagement
The tools you used to see if anyone is talking about you, now you can use them to see how your marketing is working. either helping or hurting.
Important Thought: Where should people be talking about you, and they’re not?
Make it easy for other to create content. Important now in Social Media. Have a “Newsroom” on your site where bloggers can get your logos/videos/audio/images/etc. to use in blog posts.
Cool prank idea: Post It Note someone’s car!
But don’t pull a 3M and steal someone’s idea/photos for promo. Remember, you will be exposed!
Don’t do Pay Per Post, if you want a blogger to talk about your company, hire them and have them be a part of your company. Don’t pay a stranger.
Be upfront when contacting bloggers. They already know you want something, so get to it.
