Books I’ve Read

This is the place where I share with you what I’ve been reading. I needed a place to keep track of them, so I figured why not do so on my blog? I’ve put links to the book’s Amazon page so you can find out more about the book, read more reviews, etc. If you have any book suggestions, I’d love to hear them!

Books in 2010:

January:

Scarlett Fever by Maureen Johnson
This is the sequel to Suite Scarlett. I absoutely ADORED this book. I laughed out loud and cried. The writing is so witty and smart. Highly recommend!

Books I read last year:

Dead Until Dark by Charlaine Harris
Fabulous fantasy/mystery novel. Vampires in a town in LA. Fun read. 1st book in a series.

Seducing Mr. Darcy by Gwyn Cready
A Romance novel with actual plot. A hilarious read. I thoroughly enjoyed it. This is the perfect book if you need a break from some more “serious” reading.

Looking for Alaska by John Green
Very thought provoking book. Makes you a little introspective while reading, but I think that’s a good thing. A definite must read.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins
This book was amazing. I absolutely loved it. It makes you look at human behavior in a different way. Plus it sucks you in a wild ride and doesn’t let go. I’ve finished it, and I’m dying for book two which won’t come out til August.

Suite Scarlett by Maureen Johnson
I loved this book. It was cute, made me laugh out loud and I was rooting for the characters. Highly recommend.

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman
It was a very intriguing book. It’s the first novel I’ve read that also has illustrations. Makes you think about life and death.

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockhart
I immensely enjoyed this book. It was a fun, witty and entertaining read. The writing is very intelligent, but easy to follow. Once you start, you don’t want to put it down. Highly, highly recommend.

The Season by Sarah MacLean
This was a book I couldn’t put down once I started. Those are rare books that I love to find. I’ve had a love for historical fiction books since I discovered Ann Rinaldi when I in elementary school. As the back cover of the book says: “Boys, ball gowns, murder…This year’s season will be unforgettable!” Too true. I’m sincerely hoping Ms. MacLean is working on a sequel, but that’s just me and my attachment to the characters. I want to know what happens next in their lives! If you like Historical Fiction/ Regency England Era/ Young Adult genre books…this is DEFINITELY one you shouldn’t pass up!
